TIRC Tex-Mex accepts eligible artists based in Texas, states bordering Texas, or Mexico. Eligibility depends on the recording, not ethnicity, surname, appearance, or cultural background. The music must meaningfully blend a recognizable Texas Country, Red Dirt, Country, Americana, or American-roots foundation with Mexican-American cultural or musical influence. An accordion, Spanish phrase, or other single borrowed element alone does not qualify a recording.
This is an English or Spanglish crossover format. Spanish lyrics and bilingual performances are welcome; fully Spanish-language recordings are not eligible. Recordings wholly within traditional Tejano, conjunto, norteño, banda, or regional Mexican formats are not eligible without the required country or roots crossover foundation.
Submit the one current radio single being promoted, not a full album or multiple album tracks at once. Do not repeatedly submit clearly ineligible music or the same rejected recording. A first documented deliberate or clearly ineligible submission-spam violation may block the submitting party from future Tex-Mex submissions and chart eligibility. Contact the chart team before submitting when format fit is unclear.
The system-wide AI policy took effect September 1, 2026. Two of three primary detector results strictly above 15% require manual review; the song remains inactive until review is completed. One result above the threshold alone is insufficient. Disclosure alone does not trigger detector review. An additional detector may assist review. Submitters must truthfully disclose whether AI was used in any portion of the recording, identify the tool or process, and explain its use. False or missing disclosure may lead to rejection or affect future eligibility.
A single becomes recurrent after three consecutive chart weeks at #1, following the third such week, and follows the applicable chart-life procedures. Each recording receives individual editorial review. Submission does not guarantee fingerprinting, tracking, airplay, eligibility, placement, or acceptance.

One spin counts; zero spins do not count. Each station may contribute up to 40 credited spins per song per seven-day reporting week. One spin counts. The cap applies separately to each station and song. Only one current fingerprinted single per artist is permitted; conflicting singles require administrator review. Administrators retain the Unlimited option. Single-submission and sanction decisions remain manual; no automatic June policy switch is scheduled.
